Denise produces a wide variety of commissions for private and corporate projects. Specialising in fine writing, she uses the techniques and materials of a traditional scribe. These include the associated skills of illumination, heraldry and gilding. Quills, brushes and dip pens are worked with inks, watercolour and gouache. She often sources the finest paper, vellum or parchment specially for each project. A framing and bookbinding service is also available.

She is able to reproduce any alphabet or writing style, having gained an in-depth knowledge of both historical scripts and handwriting styles. Variations of traditional and modern scripts are also available.

How to commission calligraphy
1. The first step is to telephone, email or submit the form on the contact page, for a no-obligation quote and, if required, some design suggestions.
2. On receipt of full payment and written confirmation of your script, paper and design preferences, work will begin to an agreed completion date. If time allows, paper samples and a preliminary sketch can be provided for your approval.

Prices
Every commission is unique and therefore priced individually. To give a price guideline, poetry, quotations and readings start from £50.00. Illustration from £25.00. Names inscribed on certificates from £2.00. There is a minimum charge of £25.00 for 1 hour's calligraphy work.
